"When I started out in the care industry 35 years ago, there was this misconception that care homes were like institutes. At Ashley Care Group, we've really worked to ensure residents feel at home, enjoying a comfortable family-like environment, with their own space, independence and activities to enjoy on a day-to-day basis – while feeling cared for by our exceptional team of carers."
"My mum has been in Hill Barn Care Home for four and a half years now, she is well looked after all of the time. She is always happy, she does lots of activities which she loves. She is happy with the food and a big credit to the manager and her team for everything they do."
"Mum recently moved into Hill Barn, after remaining in her home with help for several years. It was a major decision and I am so pleased that we did. Mum has settled in quickly because of the dedication of all the staff excellently led by the manager."
"Dad was placed here in Feb for a two week temporary placement on discharge from hospital while a long term placement was found, however he was so pleased with the staff, food and atmosphere that when offered the option to move he chose to stay permanently."

"Mum has Alzheimer's and needed urgent respite care, when her own at home care was available. The Old Vicarage looked after her very well during her 3 week stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the grounds and location were lovely."
"We moved my father from another care home where he was neglected. Now his care is fantastic, he is so much happier. He had refused to come out of his room previously, now he is in the lounge all the time. He looks better cared for and is enjoying his food. He is now 95 and in excellent hands"

"Every interaction that I have with Ailwyn Hall is a positive one. The staff are always helpful and explain how Mum's doing. Mum's walking a lot better than before she came into the home and even though some of our conversations don't make a lot of sense she's never asking to leave."
"A small care home with a very family feel. The staff are friendly and approachable. There have been many improvements to the building and décor over the last year and the overall feel is fresh and bright. There is a beautiful garden and residents enjoy it when the weather is good."
"Another lovely visit with dad. Entertainment today was very good for all residents. Lots of smiling faces, singing songs that they all remember and carers helping less able to enjoy this also. This was followed by lunch which was delicious tasty hot food, both main and dessert."
"This is a wonderful care home who show complete care and compassion to all their residents. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good home. I have a relative there and we are very happy with all aspects of the home and staff.

As you can imagine in an older building, no two of our rooms are the same shape or size – and each room has its own unique characteristics, such as bay windows, private terrace areas and windows overlooking the garden.
By standard, all our bedrooms come ready furnished with an electronically adjustable bed, a bedside table, an armchair, a wardrobe and a cabinet, as well as with added decorations like cushions, framed artwork, vases and various ornaments. Most of our bedrooms are also en-suites, featuring disability-friendly toilets, sinks and personal cabinets.
When a resident joins our family at Ailwyn Hall – our home becomes their home – and we want them to feel that way.
We therefore passionately advocate each of our residents to bring their belongings with them, such as photographs, books and ornaments, and to customise their rooms as they would in their own home, making them feel familiar and comfortable in their own environment.
For couples who have a shared lifetime of experiences, separation shouldn’t have to be an option.
If your loved one is looking to move into our care home with their partner, like a husband or wife, depending on our availability and the needs of each resident, we may be able to offer a couple room where they can remain together. This can either be as one large room with two beds, or two rooms next to each other.
To make life easier for our residents, most of our bedrooms feature an en-suite toilet or bathroom, each fitted with disability friendly handrails, a sink, a personal cabinet and a wash basket. To request toilet or shower support, residents also have carer call systems in both their bedrooms and inside bathrooms to call for a carer at any time of the day or night.

Welcome inside Ailwyn Hall. Every room, from our entrance to our two lounges and our dining room has been designed to create a balance between quiet spaces for relaxation – and communal spaces for engagement and entertainment. No room is quite the same at any one time.
In one room you may find residents listening to 60s jazz music, in another, residents quietly sun bathe through the conservatory windows. In another, hot chocolate and tea is being served while watching a classic Bond film, in another residents sit and socialise with their family or friends.
Welcome to our four main lounges – both fitted with numerous arm chairs, sofas and tables – each lounge offers our residents a space to relax, watch television, socialise with friends or family, or do whatever they wish in the vicinity of our team of carers.
With the addition of our reception area and our dining room – no one lounge is ever overflowing, ensuring no room is too busy to be overwhelming nor too quiet to be lonely. With books and board games stacked on the shelves and an activities coordinator working 5 days a week – our lounges always have something going on.
Feast on a warm porridge, a Sunday roast or some fish and chips in the comfort of our homely dining room.
Decorated year-round to match the season, our dining room has been designed as a comfortable social space for residents to enjoy their food in the company of their fellow residents or with a visiting family member if they choose. Our daily menu offers a selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals and our team of cooks are ready to bring their home cooked meals directly to each resident’s table like in a restaurant.
Designed with accessibility and relaxation in mind, our in-house hair salon offers comfortable seating, gentle lighting, and soft background music, creating a comfortable environment where residents can get their hair cut or styled, or their nails painted without having to leave the home for a loud or busy hair salon. Our friendly staff are attentive to each resident’s preferences, ensuring every visit is tailored to individual needs—whether it’s a fresh haircut, a simple trim, or a rejuvenating scalp massage.
Welcome to one of our greatest prides at Ailwyn Hall. Our one acre garden and its courtyard are kept tidy year round and have been decorated with shaded seating areas, bird baths and numerous areas for our residents to take a stroll and enjoy some fresh air.
Imagine a warm summers day – the birds are pecking on the bird feeder, white clouds float in the blue sky above, flowers grow in the patio and residents take to our shaded outdoor seating areas to enjoy good food, drinks and outdoor activities as they please.
